Lantern View House is the perfect base for walkers and cyclists wanting to explore the Peak District. The well-equipped house was fully modernised in 2015 to provide a home-from-home with four bedrooms (2 bedrooms with kingsize beds and en suite bath/ shower room, 2 bedrooms with pairs of ziplink singles or super king beds (extra-long beds 6'6")).

The large, comfortable sitting room has three sofas and a TV with NetFlix subscription. The large kitchen-diner has everything you need to enjoy refuelling and relaxing at the end of the day, with a small balcony with great views to Lantern Pike.

There is a large basement suitable for storing bikes and other equipment, accessed from the dining area, or through an outside door (no need to wheel bikes through the house). The spiders also live here.

Dogs are welcome (but not upstairs, please).

Gateway to the Peak District

Hayfield is just 3 miles from Kinder Scout (there’s a great route, walking from our front door up to the peak) and is located on the Sett Valley Trail, a disused railway line that runs to New Mills.

Pets Welcome

Pets are very welcome at Lantern View House (see the Pets page for details). Cats too (we’ve also had house rabbits and birds stay!)
